Sponsorship Information

The Minnesota Gerontological Society (MGS) 2007 Spring Conference is a powerful way to reach Minnesota's leaders, both from practice and academia, who serve and are interested in older adults. Your sponsorship puts your logo in front of MGS members from throughout the state who expect to learn about cutting edge topics in gerontology, network with colleagues, and collect new tools for further development of research and practice. MGS is proud to invite your organization to co-sponsor the 2007 Spring Conference on Friday, April 27, 2007.

This year’s one-day conference features: Older Adults' Mobility at Home and in the Community: Strategies for Safety, Independence and Participation. The members of the multidisciplinary conference committee have invited outstanding presenters for each of 6 program tracks: Older Driver Issues, Transportation Options for Diverse Needs, Fall Prevention and Maintenance of Physical Mobility, Physical Activity Links to Cognitive and Physical Health, Livable Communities, and finally, Home Design for Physical and Cognitive Issues in Later years.

Our conference Keynote speaker will be Nina Silverstein, Ph.D, Director of the Gerontology Program at the University of Massachusetts, and known nationally for her expertise in older driver issues. She also has written and presented extensively about other aspects of personal mobility, with a particular focus on seniors suffering from dementia and their caregivers. Our end-note speaker will be Jane Hardin, JD, from the Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA), a dynamic presenter, who will share with us the creative solutions that have been developed nationwide to address the transportation needs of seniors, both in rural and urban areas, to make our communities more senior-friendly.

Attached you will find the details about the different sponsorship levels and benefits associated with each level of co-sponsorship by your organization. Donations received by January 26th , 2007, place your organization in our marketing materials. However, we will accept donations thereafter. A planning committee member will call you to discuss this opportunity. You may call this year’s Conference Chair or email her with further questions or suggestions at: 651-690-8602 or cnsullivan@stkate.edu.
