March 2010 Webinar!
Join us on Tuesday, March 30 at noon for a webinar that looks at family caregivers, their needs, and how they can be supported. Family caregiving may be among the most important factors in affording the cost of long term care in the future, but how do we support the family caregiver to carry out this role? Minnesota has been looking at this concern, and taking some steps. There are policy options and there are services based on research which are being implemented. This webinar will:
- Describe why support for family caregivers is a critical policy issue facing Minnesota
- Introduce participants to a broad array of policy options for supporting family caregivers
- Provide deeper analysis of three key policy options
- Describe the state's efforts to implement and promote services supported by research evidence.
Led by Peter Spuit, who is a project consultant with Transform 2010 (DHS and MN Board on Aging). During his tenure with DHS and MBA, he has pursued policy strategies related to family caregiving, older adult income security, and aging in place in the community.
