An opportunity to assess relevant research for practice, and identify practice issues for research, the webinars normally conducted at noon for one hour. The webinars are offered free of charge. CEUs are available for attendees. Each presentation is then available on-line for downloading after the presentation is finished. The webinars are conducted over the internet and by telephone conference call. All you need on your computer is a connection to the internet and a web browser (no need for microphones or speakers).

Changing Compassion Fatigue to Compassion Satisfaction

There is a cost to caring.  What is compassion fatigue?  This webinar will provide you with specific tools to assist in identifying signs and symptoms of your own compassion fatigue while understanding the practices of self-care that embrace and lead to compassion satisfaction.
Objectives include:

  • Compare and contrast stress and burnout to that of compassion fatigue
  • Outline stressors that enhance susceptibility to compassion fatigue
  • Identify measures to prevent compassion fatigue
  • Identify signs and symptoms of compassion fatigue
  • Embrace identifiers of compassion fatigue

Presenter:  Lores Vlaminck, RN, BSN, MA, CHPN, Lores Consulting, Rochester.  Lores is a consultant for palliative care, hospice, home care and assisted living.  She has 35 years of professional nursing experience in clinical practice (cardiac and intensive care), outpatient clinic services and most recently as a home care and hospice administrator/director for 19 years.
