Gerontology Undergraduate Minor

The Gerontology minor at SCSU is designed to provide a knowledge base for students with a wide range of career and personal goals. The study of aging and older adults is one of the fastest growing arenas of professional activity. Related areas include: public policy and programs, retail consumer markets, banking and business, health care, social services, long term care, transportation and travel, housing, international development, community planning, and the pursuit of advanced degrees.

Graduate Programs

Masters in Gerontology (M.S.)

The focus of the M.S. in Gerontology at SCSU is on preparing professionals in aging and related fields to address the needs of older adults and a rapidly changing population. The M.S. is a 34-36 credit interdisciplinary degree. Thesis and non-thesis options are available.

Gerontology Graduate Certificate

The Graduate Certificate in Gerontology at SCSU is a 12-15 credit interdisciplinary program, providing specialized training in aging studies who have a graduate or professional degree, or who are currently enrolled in a graduate degree program and are interested in supplementing their graduate work.
