Bachelor of Social Work

Area of Emphasis in Gero-Social Work (AEGSW)

The Area of Emphasis in Gero-Social Work will guide Senior BSW students through linking coursework, field practice, and leadership to gerontological social work. BSW students will have the opportunity to enhance their practice skills, theoretical knowledge, and leadership capacity in the area of gerontological social work practice.  Students will also receive a tuition stipend.

Master of Social Work

Area of Emphasis in Aging (AEA)

AEA Scholars come together with faculty, alumni, and community members who specialize in aging. Courses, course assignments, research and events specific to education about the aging population are core components of the AEA program.  Clinical Practice with Older Adults, Integrated Healthcare, and Grief and Loss are examples of electives courses available. Graduate students will have leadership opportunities within their AEA Scholar’s cohort and they will experience a clinical practicum in a setting which provides services to the aging population. Scholars will also receive a tuition stipend.
